Ingredients
  

For the Cake
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 4 cups fresh apples peeled, cored, and sliced
For the Topping
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup oats

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the apples by peeling, coring, and slicing them thinly.
  3. Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl: flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Cream the butter and sugar in another bowl until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
  5. Combine the eggs one at a time with the creamed mixture, mixing well after each addition.
  6. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture gradually, alternating with milk.
  7. Add the prepared apples into the batter and fold them in lightly.
  8. Pour the batter into a greased round cake pan and smooth out the top.
  9. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown on top.
  10. Cool the cake in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
