Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons fresh thyme or rosemary
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then dredge them in flour until lightly coated.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Sear the chicken breasts for about 5 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté onions until translucent (about 4 minutes), then add garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Pour in chicken broth while scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Stir in heavy cream and fresh herbs; simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Return the seared chicken to the skillet, spoon some gravy over each piece, then transfer everything to the oven. Bake for 25-30 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Serve hot.
